Rogers RT/duroid 5880 laminate parameters
PCB manufacturers, PCB designers and PCBA manufacturers explain the parameters of Rogers RT/duroid 5880 laminate
RT/duroid ® The 5880 high-frequency laminate is a PTFE glass fiber reinforced material. These mICro fibers are randomly distributed in the material, providing maximum strength enhancement for the circuit application process and circuit production process.
These high-frequency materials have the lowest dielectric constant of SIMilar materials, and their extremely low dielectric loss makes them very suitable for high-frequency and broadband applications requiring minimum dispersion and loss. In addition, RT/duroid ® 5880's extremely low moisture absorption makes it an ideal choice for applications in high humidity environments.
RT/duroid 5880 can be easily cut into the required shape, and it can resist the corrosion of all solutions and reagents used in the process of etching and plating through holes. The RT/duroid 5870 and 5880 laminates have the lowest dielectric loss, low moisture absorption, isotropy, and minimal variation of electrical properties with frequency among the reinforced PTFE materials.
In order to meet the increasingly stringent requirements of high frequency circuit design on boards, ROGERS introduced a new generation of high frequency laminate RT/duroid ® 5880, which is made of polytetrafluoroethylene glass fiber reinforced material. The micro fibers inside the plate are randomly distributed in the material, which can greatly guarantee the strength requirements of the plate in the circuit application process and production process. RT/duroid ® The 5880 has the lowest dielectric constant compared with similar materials on the MARKet at present. The dielectric constant is 2.20 ± 0.02 when measured under the 10GHz IPC-TM 2.5.5.5 standard. At the same time, the dielectric loss of this plate is only 0.0009 when measured under the same standard. The extremely low dielectric loss makes it very suitable for high frequency and broadband applications requiring minimum dispersion and loss. Its maximum support frequency can reach Ku band or even higher frequency. In addition, RT/duroid ® The 5880 has an extremely low moisture absorption rate of only 0.02%, which makes it an ideal choice for applications in high humidity environments.
RT/duroid 5880 can be easily cut into the required shape, which can perfectly meet the requirements of various cavity structures for PCB shape in high-frequency applications. In addition, RT/duroid 5880, as a high-frequency laminate, can support the electrodeposition of copper with a thickness of 8~70um, and this high-frequency laminate can resist the erosion of various acid and alkali reagents used in the processing process and the test of various high and low temperature processing processes. RT/duroid 5870 has the characteristics of the lowest dielectric loss, low moisture absorption, isotropy and minimal change of electrical performance with frequency among the reinforced PTFE materials, which makes it used in commercial aviation telephone circuits, microstrip and strip line circuits, millimeter wave applications, military radar systems, missile guidance systems, and point-to-point digital radio antennas.
